Agreement to Terms

By installing, accessing, or using Rotector's services, including our browser extension, detection system, and related tools ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rotector ("we", "our", or "us"). Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. These Terms do not create any agency, partnership, or employment relationship between you and Rotector.

Important: Rotector is a community-driven initiative and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation or Discord Inc. We operate independently to help create safer online communities.

Description of Service

Rotector is a safety detection system designed to identify potentially inappropriate user accounts on Roblox and Discord platforms. Our Services include:

Core Services

• Browser Extension: A browser extension that displays status indicators for Roblox users directly on the platform
• Detection System: AI-powered analysis of user profiles, connections, and behavior patterns
• API Services: Developer tools and APIs for integrating our detection capabilities
• Community Tools: Discord bot and moderation tools for server administrators
• Appeal System: Process for users to appeal flags or request data changes

Service Features

• Status indicators showing whether users have been flagged for inappropriate behavior
• Analysis of user profiles, friend connections, and group memberships from publicly available data
• Discord message analysis in inappropriate Roblox condo/porn servers to identify users engaging in inappropriate activities
• Collection of User IDs from multiple Roblox pages (home, profile, friends, groups) for safety analysis
• Assistance tools for reporting inappropriate users to platform moderators
• Queue system for community review of potentially inappropriate accounts with built-in abuse prevention mechanisms
• Historical tracking of user behavior patterns for safety purposes
• Appeal system through our official Rotector Discord bot

Note: Our Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features and data may change periodically as we continue to improve our detection systems and user experience.

Use of the Service

You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

Acceptable Use

• Using our Services to identify potentially inappropriate accounts for safety purposes
• Reporting legitimate safety concerns through appropriate channels
• Accessing our APIs and tools in accordance with their documentation
• Participating constructively in our community discussions and appeals process
• Respecting the privacy and rights of other users

Age Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services
• Users between 13 and 18 should have parental guidance when using our Services
• We recommend parental supervision for all users under 18

Intellectual Property

Our Services, including the browser extension, detection algorithms, and related content, are protected by intellectual property laws. While our browser extension is open-source under the GPL v2.0 license, certain components and trademarks remain our exclusive property.

Our Rights

• The Rotector name, logo, and branding are our exclusive property
• Our detection algorithms and methodologies are proprietary
• The design and user interface of our Services are protected by copyright
• Our compiled databases and analysis results are our intellectual property

Your Rights

• You may use our open-source browser extension in accordance with the GPL v2.0 license
• You retain ownership of any content you submit to us (such as appeals or reports)
• You may use our Services for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Fair use of our name and service for educational, review, or awareness purposes is permitted
• Content creators may reference or discuss our Services for informational or promotional purposes

You may not use our name, logos, or branding without our prior written consent. Any unauthorized use may result in termination of your access to our Services.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

System Abuse

• Attempting to circumvent, disable, or interfere with our detection systems
• Reverse engineering our algorithms or attempting to extract proprietary information
• Overloading our systems with excessive requests or automated tools
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data

Misuse of Information

• Using our Services to harass, stalk, or harm other individuals
• Sharing or distributing our detection data for malicious purposes
• Creating false reports or appeals with intent to deceive our Discord bot appeal system
• Attempting to manipulate or interfere with our Discord message analysis systems
• Providing false information during the appeal process through our Discord bot
• Abusing the "Queue for Review" feature by submitting spam, false reports, or attempting to overwhelm the system
• Using automated tools or bots to access our Services without authorization
• Attempting to scrape or mass-download our data

General Violations

• Using our Services in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Violating the terms of service of Roblox, Discord, or other platforms
• Impersonating other users or entities
• Distributing malware, viruses, or other harmful code

Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Service Availability

• We do not guarantee that our Services will be available at all times
• Our Services may experience interruptions, errors, or downtime
• We may modify or discontinue features without notice

Accuracy of Information

• We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of our detection results
• False positives and false negatives may occur in our analysis
• Our Services are tools to assist in safety assessment, not definitive judgments

Security

• We do not guarantee that our Services are free from viruses or other harmful components
• We cannot guarantee the security of data transmission over the internet
• You use our Services at your own risk

Warning: Our Services may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features as we continuously develop and improve our platform. We make no warranties about the absolute stability or reliability of our software.

User-Generated Content and Submissions

When you submit appeals, reports, or other content through our Services (including through our Discord bot), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content for the purposes of operating our Services.

Your Representations and Warranties

• You own or have the necessary rights to submit the content
• Your submissions do not violate any third-party rights
• Your content is accurate and not misleading
• You will not submit any illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content

We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms or our community standards.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ROTECTOR, ITS DEVELOPERS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Types of Damages

• Personal injury, pain and suffering, or emotional distress
• Loss of revenue, profits, business, or anticipated savings
• Loss of use, goodwill, or data
• Cost of procurement of substitute goods or services
• Any other damages of any kind, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise

Scope of Limitation

• This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages
• This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability
• This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rotector and its developers, contributors, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

Covered Claims

• Your violation of these Terms or our Privacy Policy
• Your use or misuse of our Services
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Any content or information you submit through our Services
• Your negligent or wrongful conduct

We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, and you agree to cooperate with our defense of such claims.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms.

Grounds for Termination

• Violation of these Terms or our Privacy Policy
• Misuse of our Services or systems
• Engaging in prohibited activities
• Legal requirements or court orders
• Threats to the security or integrity of our Services

Effects of Termination

• Your right to use our Services will cease immediately
• You must uninstall our browser extension and cease using our APIs
• Certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination
• We may retain certain data as described in our Privacy Policy

You may also terminate your use of our Services at any time by uninstalling our browser extension and ceasing to use our other Services.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

1. Informal Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first through our Discord server to resolve any disputes informally.

2. Formal Notice

If informal resolution fails, you must provide written notice of the dispute.

3. Good Faith Negotiations

Both parties agree to engage in good faith negotiations for 30 days.

4. Arbitration

If negotiations fail, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.

Warning: You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit against us.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, wars, terrorism, or civil disorders. In such events, we will notify you when practicable and resume normal operations as quickly as possible.

General Provisions

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights without restriction, including in connection with a merger or acquisition.

Communications: By using our Services, you consent to receive communications electronically through our website, Discord server, or browser extension. Electronic communications satisfy any legal writing requirements.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rotector concerning our Services and supersede all prior agreements.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date
• Providing notice through our browser extension
• Announcing changes in our Discord server
• Sending notifications through other communication channels when appropriate

All changes will be effective immediately upon posting unless otherwise specified. Your continued use of our Services following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.

If you do not agree with any changes, you must discontinue use of our Services and uninstall our browser extension.
